IOWA CITY, IA.-The Indiana Fever jumped out to a 20-point lead in the first quarter and went onto dominate the Brazil National Team in a preseason matchup at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City on Sunday afternoon 108-44.
For Fever guard Caitlin Clark, it was a return trip to Iowa where she was a dominant college basketball player. At Iowa, she became the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer and was a two-time national player of the year. She finished with 16 points, six rebounds, and five assists while getting to rest in the fourth quarter.
Indiana outscored Brazil 37-17 in the first quarter and then 33-7 in the second quarter.
Kelsey Mitchell led Indiana with 17 points. Brazil’s leading scorer was Iza Nicoletti with 9 points.
