The Indianapolis Colts got their man in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Tyler Warren, the standout tight end out of Penn State, fell right into the Colts lap with the 14th pick. On paper, it’s a perfect fit between a team need and a premier talent, with Warren having both the size and physicality of a good blocker, while also possessing the ability to challenge defenses in the passing game. In his final season with the Nittany Lions, Warren had 104 catches for 1,233 yards and 8 touchdowns; after the dismal production the Colts tight end room had last season, Warren figures to be a major upgrade.

For Colts fans, there were a couple of anxiety-inducing moments in the first round. First, when the Chicago Bears made their pick, and in a somewhat shocking move, grabbed Michigan tight end Colston Loveland ahead of Warren. Then, when Dallas made their selection a few picks later, Colts fans felt their heart drop when Roger Goodell read the first name on the card: Tyler. Thankfully, the Cowboys decided on a different Tyler, as in Alabama guard Tyler Booker.

During the Friday edition of The Ride With JMV, new Colts tight end Tyler Warren called into the show to talk about joining the Colts! Listen to that conversation down below and tune into The Ride With JMV weekdays from 3-6pm on 93.5/107.5 The Fan!
