The NFL Draft is right around the corner, and while the Indianapolis Colts have an obvious need at tight end, there is also speculation over what they might do at the quarterback position.

Currently, Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones are expected to split reps evenly during the offseason, but what about if the Colts decide to add another QB to the room via the draft? While it seems very unlikely that they use the 14th-overall selection to grab one, could we see them go back to that well on Day 2? After all, it’s not as if this is a particularly deep draft at the position. If they do plan to add a QB, how long could they realistically wait?

During the Monday edition of The Ride With JMV, Stephen Holder of ESPN joined the show, and gave his thoughts on if or when the Colts could draft a quarterback.

Realistically, I think we’re talking later [than the first round], but if you want a quarterback in this draft that’s any good, I don’t think you can do it much later. I think you’ve got to do it possibly on Day 2…I actually do not rule it out, and I don’t think it’s a bad idea…At minimum, one of these two quarterbacks that’s currently on the roster will not be here next year. More than likely, at least one will not be here, maybe both. There’s a scenario where neither of these guys are here in 2026. So then, who’s the quarterback? I don’t know. So, I think it’s a really easy case to make; I’m not saying it’s a must, but I do think there’s a very solid case to make there.”
