We’re just a week away from the start of the 2025 NFL Draft.

For the Indianapolis Colts, who own the 14th-overall pick, there are tons of questions about what they will do. The most obvious position of need for the team is at tight end, and this draft has a couple of high-profile prospects that could fill that hole. Is Chris Ballard content to sit where he is, and hope their guy falls to them? Will he go against his nature, leave nothing to chance, and move up to get him? Or will he fall back on old habits, and move back to gather more picks?

With all these questions surrounding the Colts, it’s easy to forget that this is also an intriguing draft for their AFC South divisional rivals. After all, the Tennessee Titans own the 1st-overall selection; it’s widely assumed that they will use that pick to draft Cam Ward as they try to find that franchise quarterback that has eluded them since the days of Steve McNair. Then there’s the Jacksonville Jaguars, who hope their new coach and general manager can finally unlock the potential Trevor Lawrence showed when he was taken 1st-overall in 2021. Finally, you have the defending AFC South Champions, the Houston Texans, who are looking to build on another playoff season, and provide quarterback C.J Stroud with more weapons and protection.

Earlier this week on The Ride With JMV, John took a “tour” around the AFC South, as he spoke to Turron Davenport and Mike DiRocco, who cover the Titans and the Jaguars respectively for ESPN, as well as longtime Hoston writer John McClain. All three provided in-depth analysis on what the Colts AFC South rivals are looking to do when the NFL Draft rolls around next week, as well as on what prospects stand out.
