Manning’s ‘Night of Champions’

INDIANAPOLIS –Peyton Manning was back in Indy on Monday, and this time, it wasn’t just for a quick visit.

The Hall of Fame quarterback reunited with some former teammates from the 2006 Super Bowl-winning Colts at the Murat Theatre for a special event—“Night of Champions: 2006 Indianapolis Colts.”

Manning, who helped organize the night through his company, Omaha Productions, called it a passion project—something not just for the players and coaches but also for the fans who lived that season right alongside them.

And speaking of fans, Manning was reminded of just how dedicated Colts Nation still is as soon as he landed.

“There were some diehard fans as I walked out of the gate at the Indianapolis airport today,” Manning said. “They were there to get my autograph. That’s real passion. They knew my flight. They knew I was coming from Denver. It was amazing.”

On stage with Manning were Colts legends Marvin Harrison, Dwight Freeney, Dallas Clark, Jeff Saturday, Reggie Wayne, and head coach Tony Dungy. Sportscaster Jim Nantz—who called Super Bowl XLI on CBS—led the conversation, giving fans an inside look at the moments that made that championship season unforgettable.

Manning’s ties to Indy remain strong. Last week, he was in town for the Celebration of Caring Gala, raising money for the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital. In October, he returned to Lucas Oil Stadium to celebrate Dallas Clark’s Ring of Honor induction.

“I love coming back here,” Manning said. “Great memories, great friends. Indianapolis will always be a part of my life.”
