BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—The Indiana Hoosier men’s basketball team (2-0) overcame a five-point deficit to beat the Eastern Illinois Panthers (1-2) 90-55 on Sunday.
Indiana shot 61% for the game and held the Panthers to 17% shooting in the second half to win despite being behind at halftime 37-36. They would, however, outscore Eastern Illinois in the second half 54-18.
The Hoosiers were led by Mackenzie Mgbako with 18 points to go along with his 7 rebounds and four assists. Oumar Ballo and Malik Reneau both had 17 points for the Hoosiers. Ballo also had 9 rebounds.
Nakyel Shelton led Eastern Illinois with 17 points, but only scored two points in the second half.
Indiana’s next game is November 16 at 3 pm against South Carolina.
