Top 10 NFL Week 6 Takeaways
1. George ‘Superhuman’ Kittle Keeps Scoring
Celebrating his birthday on the previous day (Oct. 9), Kittle kept the party going, in the end zone! Scoring two touchdowns on the day, Kittle helped propel the San Fransisco 49ers over the Seattle Seahawks.
2. Williams Won’t be Denied Overseas
Another international matchup saw the Bears make Childs plays of the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Rookie Caleb Williams looked like a seasoned vet overseas, throwing for 226 yards, and four touchdowns.
3. No Mercy on the Saints
In an highly anticipated divisional matchup, The Buccaneers beat the brakes off a depleted New Orleans Saints team. Missing their Quarterback and a few other key pieces of the roster, the Saints did what they could behind rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler, but it wasn’t enough. Despite throwing 3 interceptions, Baker Mayfield returned back to form, throwing for 325 yards and four touchdowns.
4. Jayden Daniels vs. Lamar Jackson
This star-studded matchup at QB was everything we had hoped it would be. Entertaining from start to finish, we seen greatness from both guys as they led a hard fought battle. But it ultimately came down to the X-factor, King Henry, as Derrick put the Ravens on his back, and rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns to seal the deal.
5. The Cheeseheads Love Jordan
Jordan Love has been fantastic since coming back from his knee Injury. Love shredded the Arizona defense, throwing for 258 yards and four touchdowns as they cruised to a dominant 34-13 win
6. Joe Calm, Joe Cool, Joe Collected
A last minute scratch at QB saw Joe Flacco take over the starting spot over Anthony Richardson. Flacco lead the underdog Colts to a 3-point victory over their division rivals in the Tennessee Titans. Flacco threw for a total of 189 yards and two touchdowns on the day.
7. Houston, New England has a serious problem
Heading into the matchup winless at home, the Patriots now add a third loss to the home record as the Houston Texans defeated them by 20 points. C.J. Stroud looked veteran-like, dropping off three touchdowns, complemented by a 100-yard rush day from Joe Mixon.
8. Sirianni ‘Shuts Up’ Eagles Fans?
With his job rumored to be ‘on the line’, Head Coach of the Philadelphia Eagles Nick Sirianni was seen firing back at the fans and members of the crowd who allegedly ‘called for his job’ earlier in the game. He later responded that he should have directed his energy elsewhere as a leader of the team. Eagles barely win against the Cleveland Browns in a tight 20-16 victory.
9. Atlanta is Varsity, Carolina is Freshmeat
Another divisional matchup saw the Atlanta Falcons take care of their ‘little brothers’ of the NFC south in the Carolina Panthers. Although it looked good in the beginning as the Panthers struck first with a Dionte Johnson touchdown to lead the Falcons 7-0 early, that was pretty much all the steam they had. Kirk Cousins threw for 225 yards along with Tyler Allegier’s 105 yard rushing day to propel the birds past the cats, and they never looked back.
10. How ‘Bout Dem Lions?
You would expect things to go great on the day of your birthday right? Well that was not the case for Cowboys owner Jerry Jones — who if anything, just wished for a win a home. Unfortunately, the Cowboys players were NOT in the locker room when Jerry Jones made his wish, as the Detroit Lions abused the Dallas Cowboys in AT&T Stadium. To make matter worse, the Lions never punted the football once in this game, scoring on almost every drive they had. Goff gave it to the Dallas secondary, dismantling them with 315 yards and three touchdowns.
